I ventured up to the city in the rain last weekend and tried Midori Mushi. My dining partner and I slide in the door just a bit before closing, but the owner and entire staff were super nice and friendly. I loved the shape of the tiny dining room and how much everyone seemed to enjoy their jobs. It's really refreshing to see people that are actually happy to be doing a job. The sushi was delicious, we mainly stuck to the specials list ordering dragon ballz (iniri pouches stuffed w/ fresh crab), XTC roll, a submission roll, and some young hamachi nigiri that I can't remember the name of. We also had some miso soup and 2 large Asahi beers. I think we ordered another roll too, but I can't remember what it was called. Total came to about $50 pretip, way more resonable than over rated and over priced (in my opinion at least, no offense) Blowfish Sushi to Die For, plus the service was 400% more gracious. Give it a try.
The next day, I was walking around the 9th and Irving area and went to Yummy Yummy after reading about it on the board. We had shrimp rolls, iced coffee, salt and pepper crab, and cat fish clay pot. The cat fish was really tasty, satisfying, and fresh tasting (no muddiness). The crab was big, messy, and delicious. Total was about $35 pretip, we had left overs, and I was too full to even think about buying a duck down the street to take home.
