Have had some tremendously good, hearty food from the deli in the "Toledo Market" on Dorr street near the University of Toledo. The Toledo Market is "middle eastern" in scope. They sell lots of imported foodstuffs from the middle east region. They also have a halal meat counter.
The best part is the small family owned deli in the back. I have eaten there many times. I would recommend the fatoosh salad. They have excellent schwarma sandwiches (I prefer the chicken over the beef). They also have rotating dishes (only offered during certain parts of the week). I have tried several of their rice and chicken dishes, and wish that I could remember the name for it. It was quite good. They also have a chicken with onion dish that I wish I could remember the name of, very good.
Prices are EXTREMELY reasonable.
It is a real hole in the wall place, and most people are conversing in Arabic. A lot of the people who eat here are middle eastern students. If you are willing to go off the beaten path, and have some adventure, You'll like the Toledo Market deli.
