Mid-priced Miami

Bill | May 9, 200609:56 AM

Ok, I've been in Miami for 3 weeks now and I've had one great meal (River Oyster), some good but expensive meals (Joe's Stone, Wish) and some good value options (Rosinella's downtown, Perricone's, Salero, Paul's Aventura) and some ok/dreck (Cafeteria dinner, Rusty Pelican, Gordon Biersch, the Mexican place in Aventura Mall). We also loved Pasha's downtown for takeout.

I hate to have all you great Miami posters constantly re-posting the same things over and over (trust me, in Orlando we had to start over every time someone came to Disney), but I was hoping to ask for a specific need I have had trouble picking out of your voluminous recommendations. Here's what I need:

At least once a week (usually Saturday) my wife and I like to go out for a dinner that has interesting options but won't cost us an arm and a leg (like Wish for instance). What we look for is a place where we can split an appetizer, each get salad or soup , an entree and a nice glass of wine for about $100 including tip. We are looking anywhere from South Beach, to downtown, Aventura, Gables, Grove and even Ft Lauderdale. To give a little more direction - more expensive than Rosinella's, less expensive than Wish. Also, unless unique to the area, please avoid recommending chains, we had enough of those in Orlando!

So, Miami chowhounds, what say you?
