Michelin star quality at Dayboat in Sunnyside

Dayboat is terrific. Many surprises on the menu...the varieties of ceviche are excellent. The appetizers and kabayushi (skewers) are terrific -- particularly recommend the octopus with llapingacho and classico. My wife had the ceviche caliente entree while I had the purple pasta. The latter dish was a real surprise as the pasta was buccatini, which has a hole in the middle of a long thread of spaghetti. As the waiter explained it, the chef preferred buccatini as it absorbed the flavors and color more readily. On our next trip we're really looking forward to having the paella. This has to be the best Ecuadorean cuisine in NYC.

For Manhattanites, it's well worth the trip out to Queens. Very conveniently located to the 40th Street stop on the #7 train...just two stops past Queens Plaza.
