Michelin 2016 - no change in the North West

Harters | Sep 17, 201504:35 AM     13

Both Simon Rogan's and Aiden Byrne's Manchester restaurants were again tipped for stars but have again not been rewarded. So, we stay at just five starred restaurants in the region - L'Enclume, Fraiche, Northcote, Samling and Simon Radley at the Grosvenor (where I ate last night).

To my mind this only serves two purposes. Firstly, it fuels the fire of those of us who hold to the conspiracy theory that Michelin has something of a down on Manchester (I am one of those). And, second, it fuels the fire of those of us who hold to the view that Michelin holds decreasing relevence to modern dining trends. (I am also one of those) Both Rogan's and Byrne's places are streets ahead of a number of starred places "down south" where I've eaten.
