A very good place in a town that has few good places to eat. Off the stripmall of Veteran's Parkway in downtown Bloomington. We had a tasty dinner consisting of a small portion of meaty, crusty, tender back ribs in a good sauce; jumbo shrimp cocktail made with fresh shrimp; homemade clam chowder; a nice (but somewhat salty) onion soup and a most unusual salad. The salad was unusual because it consisted of roasted red peppers and fresh hearts of palm in a tasty vinegarette. Now i don't know about you, but i've never actually had fresh-- not canned-- hearts of palm and, brothers and sisters, these were. Crunchy, tender and altogether delicious. In downtown Bloomington. Go figure. They weren't exactly full so go give them your business. Specials also sounded interesting-- including a filet stuffed with proscuitto (sp?) and roquefort.
