Has anyone heard anything about Micahel Mina - opening next month, I think. Menu...?
Also, had a wonderful dinner last night at Zax on Telegraph in Berkeley. The room is clean and elegant but not stuffy or loud. The service was helpful, friendly and professional. (We brought two bottles of wine and weren't charged corkage.) The spinach salad was light and fresh and the house-cured gravalox melted in your mouth. The P.E.I. mussles were fresh and flavorful but there was a little too much vinegar. I had the NY Strip as an entree, it was a perfect medium rare, tender and juicy. Yellow and red tomatoes were served along with it in addition to the most delicious polenta fries. My friends had the pork loin which probably could have been a little pinker but was still very good, the salmon (the only thing I know about it was that she liked it) and the chicken, which my friend raved about.
