Got my new issue of Esquire yesterday (November Sexiest Women Alive issue), and they had the 2009 rundown of best new restaurants. Great year for South Florida. Miami placed two on the list of top 20 nationwide (Area 31 and Sra. Martinez), Naples got one on (Sea Salt), and amusingly the Hostess of the Year (a tongue-in-cheek award) was from Meat Market!
Area 31 was praised for it's commitment to sustainable seafood (and it's view) - called a Restaurant for Our Time.
Sra. Martinez's write-up featured a breakdown of the awesome shrimp tiradito dish with an accompanying overall rave for Michelle herself.
I have never heard of Sea Salt, but man was that an awesome review - basically said the stuff they make is better than what you get at the best places in Italy. Anybody eaten there? Worth the drive?
Issue isn't online yet - I'll post a link once it's up.
