Miami native coming home for a visit

ricardoh | Mar 9, 200605:44 PM

Although I grew up in Miami, I haven't been back in many years. This October, I'm bringing a group back home with me before we embark on a cruise. I could use help for 3 in South Beach, one in the Gables and maybe one night in the Grove?? I love cuban food and used to eat at a wonderful joint called "Islas Canarias" and, of course, cuban sandwiches at Pan American cafeteria..are these places still around and how are they still good? Other recommendations would be greatly appreciated!! Other than the "authentic cuban" we're probably looking at more upscale kind of dining. Looking forward to coming home and THANKS for your help, chowhounds.
