Mi Casa (downtown Oakland) (yes, again)

I know I've raved about Mi Casa before (and we had a small lunch meeting there)... went back there today for the first time in a month, and it was just *fabulous*. I'm almost tempted to swear off all other restaurants (but not quite).

Apparently the waitress had just quit, and the mother did the cooking today. I hope she continues to cook there.. it was better than ever before (and I really liked it before!).

They've changed the salsa from a weak green tomatillo one to a spicy salsa fresca. All three items I tried were succulent and freshly made. They even picked up the presentation a bit, with a nicer plate, and some cucumber slices and twisted orange slices as an edible garnish.

Both of us were nicely stuffed for only $10 (minus the outrageous tip we left). If only they'd brighten up the stairwell a bit and remember to flip the 'closed' sign to 'open', I'm sure they would be a bigger hit...
