From Sunday morning's Cup & Bar https://www.chowhound.com/post/cup-ba... , we headed out for some electronic shopping. A to-go order from MF Tasty paella truck for eating on the run kept us going.
Actually I'd stopped by here on Saturday afternoon around 4pm, intending to get an order to add to our dinner party table. I was greeted by the sad news that the paella was sold out for the day, and that this was the first time it had happened so early. True, there were other dishes available, but when you have your heart set on paella, nothing else will do.
So on that Sunday, I stopped by before 1pm. The POW (paella of the week) featured Chef Eric Gitenstein's cart-made chorizo with a sunnyside-up egg.
An order for eating-in, at one of the outdoor tables or inside the container dining room, looks like this. A healthy serving for $13 decorated with edible flowers, a dash of spices and a grilled lime. Plenty of crunchy bits, and the softish rice was infused with deep, intense savoriness.
As we said goodbye, chef said, "Melanie, you're my most knowledgeable paella customer in a very long time. I've enjoyed chatting with you. Come back to Portland soon."
