Mexico City itinerary and restaurant help

My wife and I are planning a trip to Mexico City for our 10th anniversary in early October and we're trying to decide which restaurant to go to to celebrate. Right now I have a reservation at Pujol, but have started to look at a few other places like Quintonil and some other less fancy places like Yuban, Guzina and Fonda Fina. We live in San Francisco, and from a culinary standpoint gravitate more towards the higher mid-range restaurants rather than ultra high-end places. When in Mexico, we're interested in eating authentic Mexican cuisine (instead of a place like Modern Bistrot). But we would also like to have a nice dining experience. Does anyone have a recommendation that fits the bill?

Other priorities are eating as much street food/al pastor as possible. I'd also really like to try Nicos and El Hidalguense. Finally, my wife really wants to do a market tour. We get in later in the evening on Thurdsay and leave Sunday morning. How can we accomplish all that in two days while still seeing something other than the inside of a restaurant? Seems very daunting...
