The last couple weekends I've been going to this new mexican place that serves tacos. It's on Victoria Drive, near 36th Ave. Here's a map link (it's just a link to the block where it's on...I was just guessing at the exact address, but it's definitely on that block and on the east side of the street...there's a small bus stop right in front of it):
It's called "Chilo's Taqueria", and I think they're starting regular hours April 1. Basically evenings only Tuesday to Friday, and all day on weekends. They don't really speak english there...so maybe a sign of authenticity? Go there and judge for yourself :)
We've had different kinds of tacos there. Tastes like the street tacos we've had in the side-streets of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose de Cabo. They've got lengua (tongue), cabeza (cow head), pork, and some other beef ones....some really specific parts of the cow that have different names, and I guess taste slightly different from other parts of the cow. The lady there was trying to explain the names to us, but it was tough with the language barrier. Brush up on your spanish!
One green and one red salsa at your table, along with limes and salt. Tastes pretty damn good, and closest to authentic tacos we've ever had in the Lower Mainland. $1.25 each. We got stuffed for $10 :) Check it out and post what you think of it!
