Mexican Radio - review

Last night's goal was to find a good place to eat near Rice to Riches (my first time there -- mascarpone with cherry rice pudding was excellent).

We eventually ended up at Mexican Radio (no one realized it had moved, but the location on Cleveland Place was still near Rice to Riches). It was a fun night! The ambiance was good and the service was friendly. The food looked great -- they do nice things with drizzling sour cream in decorative patterns. The margaritas were potent, and the nachos were very good -- at least I think so, I ignored the warning sign on the table and put a bit too much hot sauce on them and burned my mouth for that course.

Got the plate of three different enchiladas with three different mole sauces, including raspberry mole which I had never seen before and which stood out. I enjoyed the mole sauces and the beef and roasted veggie enchiladas but the chicken enchilada was too dry. A friend had the carnitas which he enjoyed very much -- very moist and flavorful.

I would't say this is the best Mexican I have ever had, but it was certainly respectable with a varied menu and food that stands out visually. Combine that with good margaritas and a fun atmosphere and I will be going back.
