Mexican produce/grocery stores in SF

Celeste | Jun 20, 200502:30 PM

As I was running around town this weekend to get prep ingredients to make chicken mole enchiladas for a crowd, I realized I don't have much of a local vocabulary for Mexican produce/grocery stores.

I always just go to 23rd/Mission produce market, mostly because I used to live two blocks away. The produce is well-priced and it's nice that they have some cheese and canned goods, but I was a little disappointed in the selection of chile powders.

What are the other Mexican markets (in San Francisco proper) that I am missing that have good price and selection for produce as well as other building-block items for mexican cooking?

Not that I'm disappointed with the 14 limes for a dollar at 23rd/Mission. I'm just convinced there's other places worth investigating for future reference.
