I get out to NM twice a year to visit family and fell in love with the food. Wish I knew a place around here to get it.
For those who haven't had it, it's very different from Mexican or Cal/Tex/Mex blends and rarely seen outside of NM - about as frequently as you'd spot a jackalope.
For those who've had it, you know what I'm talking about: red and green chili, sopapillas & honey, navajo bread, posole, all that good stuff.
Last year I walked by a place near the meatpacking district that had a sign on the window: "Hatch chilis are here". I forget exactly where it was (arrrgh!), but it gives me hope that my quest will end in triumph.
