the Metropolitan Club Brunch

Had brunch at the Metropolitan Club in Chestnut HIll today- four adults and two toddlers. It was so excellent- I have never seen comments here about this place which we like for dinner but the brunch was sooo good. I had egg Met Muffin- homemade English muffin with Serrano ham, poached egg and manchego cheese with the best homefries I have ever had (I usually don't eat them). Only $10( you can add truffles for $20 and caviar for "market price"). Other people had sable benedict(with house cured sable), upside down apple pancake, griddle cakes, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon. The only thing we didn't like was the slab bacon- too thick and fatty. The apple smoked bacon was very good. All eggs cooked perfectly. They even made hot chocolate for the little ones though it was not on the menu. Also we had Met donuts with dulce de leche and mango dip- was so good. Homemade argentinian style donuts- crispy, hot and not greasy. I recommend it.
