Did I mess up seasoning my carbon steel pan?

Just got done with round two of putting it in the oven at 500 for an hour, and when I took it out, it had some splotchy areas. I didn't think I put too much flaxseed oil on, but maybe that's what happened? Is this salvageable, or do I need to start over?
