Merenghina alla Griglia con Grand Marnier?

I had the surprise good fortune of being in Italy recently, where I had a wonderful dessert by the above name. It was large cubes of a sort of plain-ish cake, toasted under a broiler, with a sort of cream filling and doused with Grand Marnier. I have looked all over the internet for a recipe, but with no luck. Can anyone help provide a recipe so I can replicate it at home? Thanks!
