Tried Mosa Asian Bistro (Kirby and Poplar, in the old KFC and Scooter's Barbecue location) for lunch today, and was fairly impressed. Had the Pad Thai, which I should have ordered Medium instead of Hot (otherwise okay), but sitting there waiting for the food to come to the table I glanced at what everyone else in the place was eating and it all looked very good. Maybe it's because they're new, but it's one restaurant where the presentation alone makes me want to go back--the food is impeccably plated.
The system is similar to Mama Fu's down the street: a selection of Asian appetizers, soups, and entrees ordered at a counter and brought to the table. A pretty wide selection is available in varying degrees of heat.
I've read that the family is responsible for Formosa restaurants around town, which have always been pretty good in my book for Chinese, and I think the Schezuan or Hunan dishes might be more authentic orders than the Thai or Japanese dishes, but everything that passed my table looked absolutely wonderful.
They have a website (mosaasianbistro.com), but it doesn't seem to be working at the moment.
