memphis minnie's update - the brisket is still the best

The brisket is still the best (I love it) but here are some thoughts on the other stuff:

The sausage and pork ribs are also excellent. The sweet pulled pork was good but edge pieces are salty - eat a salty piece together with a not-so-salty piece. The smoked chicken was way too dry - I had the thigh and drumstick and it was still hard to choke down.

The potato salad is my favorite of all the sides. I was surprised by the coleslaw, which reminded me of japanese pickled vegetables. It didn't have any mayo - just a sweet and vinegary dressing.

I didn't like the greens or the sweet potatoes. The greens tasted too much like the coleslaw - it was sweet and vinegary. The potatoes also had vinegar in them. I sometimes add a drop or two of vinegar to something sweet if I want to cut the sweetness a bit, but usually I don't add so much I can taste it. The cornbread was dry.

Peach pie was so-so - the filling being the mediocre part. It was more like jam than fresh peach.

The meat on everyone's plate was lukewarm. Of course, the meat can't be smoked to order because it takes 18 hours, but is this a fluke or is it common? Next time I'm doing takeout: a pound of brisket and a pint of potato salad.
