When I was a kid in the 60's, my mother made a cake that I believe she called a "Daffodil" cake. It was two layers, one layer was spice and I don't remember the other layer. I think it had sliced bananas in the filling and some creamy additional filling and icing or topping - whipped cream? Does this sound familiar to anyone? It wouldn't have been from a mix and I'm pretty sure the filling and topping didn't include cream cheese. It seemed so exotic to us and I'd love to find the recipe. Thanks!
