Memorial Dinner

CapHill | Dec 29, 2004 07:43 PM

Hi. I used to post here a lot 3 years ago and for a lot of reasons (jobs, personal time - basically my fault) fell off the list. I hope each of you are doing well. I still appreciate this list and I do stop by and check out suggestions.

I have the sad duty of arranging for a memorial dinner for a friend who passed away in October from HIV. I am wondering if anyone can help me think of a decent restaurant with a room for up to 15 people that is suitable for this somewhat somber occasion (I'm thinking wood paneling), not expensive and relatively American style food. Partly though we want to remember our friend with humor and good will so we don't want to be buried by the ambience. I don't know if we've got vegetarians but that would be good too. I'm thinking about trying to reserve space at Tabard Inn or possibly Vidalia, but would appreciate other suggestions.
