So, yesterday my girls wanted pizza. I live in centralish Austin, but didn't mind driving to HomeSlice, our favorite. Called them, closed for the holiday.
Next called House Pizzeria, closed, or at least i assume it was closed. The phone just rang, and rang never going to an answering device. Man, this is a pet peeve. Just invest in an answering machine, or something. Then Eastside pies, all locations closed. Then Banzai, not pizza, but it was something we could all agree on. Closed. Then it came to me, Pinthouse Pizza. I had only been there once before, about a year ago, and remembered liking it.
I had an excellent House brewed Dry Irish Stout (nitro) while i waited for the margherita pizza. The margherita pizza was great, dotted with big hunks of fresh mozzerella and cherry tomatoes cut in half. Unlike a lot of places, they gave me a container of basil to sprinkle on top when i got home, which i really like. It tasted fresher this way, of course. Oh yeah, I also got some tasty (and surprisingly not very greasy) pepperoni rolls to take home as well.
Next time this might be the first choice.
