My sister and I will be traveling with our mother to DC May 19-21, 2016 for an annual girls' weekend. Our mother will be turning 75 this year, and we are trying to think of a memorable experience that we can do with her while in DC to celebrate. We do not have an unlimited budget, so a blowout dinner at the most expensive restaurant in DC is not what we have in mind. We could always do a chef tasting menu, but I am hoping to find something even more unusual. I would say our budget should stay around $300 total, although I would be willing to go a bit higher for something truly exceptional. I am more interested in something very unique, like participating in a secret supper club, or some other similar experience that those "in the know" could tell us about. Our mother is pescatarian, and we all have a preference for local ingredients, although we appreciate all types of cuisine. We will have a car if needed and will be staying near a metro stop. I would appreciate any ideas you could offer.
