I was driving along 110 in melville and came across the melting pot. I decided to give it a try because I have never had fondue before. I walked in and the lady at the counter told me that there were no openings on weekends for 6 weeks and no openings on weekdays for 3 weeks. I thought this was outrageous so never went back to try it. The next week I read a review in newsday bashing it. What do you think of the melting pot and is it good enough to make reservations 3-6 weeks in advance? According to this article, its not. I know its a chain, and a big hit in florida, but I'm not quite sure that its all its cracked up to be. I think that most of its popularity is coming from it being one of the only fondue restaurants on Long Island.
