"Melissa" onions=shallots?

My local grocery has been spotty with loose shallots lately. The other day they had a bin of beautiful quality bulbs that looked like shallots but were round. They were labelled Melissa onions. I asked the girl at the register and she laughed and said they were indeed shallots. They have several sections like a shallot but don't pull apart as easily. However they definitely looked like shallots when cut.

Anyway I googled and it appears to be the name of an organic company. Weird but glad I was able to finally get some, even @ $1.99#. Now, this is the same grocery that had Jonagolds labelled as Juanagolds, and is probably a miscommunication, but anyway, that's the story! In case you run into it.
