Boy, it really makes a difference when Geoff is at the helm of his restaurant in terms of food quality. I had lunch there today at the Wesley Heights restaurant sitting outside on their lovely patio and ordered the chicken quesadilla with a black bean salsa. What turned up was a quesadilla whose tortilla covering was almost completely burned though the inside was adequate (though not much flavor but maybe that's the cold I have). The salsa was more of a salad with lettuce and some black beans, chopped tomatoes and onions with no kind of dressing - certainly not a salsa in my book but a minor quibble as it was pretty tasty. The manager did very nicely offer to replace the quesadilla and the second version came out a little less overdone than the first. I overheard the people at the table next to me complaining about the mediocre lunch they had and they asked who the chef was today and it wasn't Geoff. So, a word to the wise, call ahead and make sure that Geoff is on duty before you go to Chef Geoff's if you want to be assured of better quality. The service was very good however.
