So I spent the weekend in Montreal. Yesterday afternoon, we went to Schwartz's deli. It was much better than expected - I thought Caplanky's would give it a run for the money, but Schwartz's wins by a landslide.
In any case, more to the point. I bought 2 pounds of smoked meat from Schwartzs. We bought it cold on purpose. However, due to the snow storm and various delays, the meat didn't get back in to the refrigerator until about 8 hours later.
So - has my meat spoiled, or should it still be ok? Unfortunately it was also pre-sliced.
