Meat and Three - Plate Lunch - Long Island - not upstate

Gastronomos | Feb 9, 201705:14 AM     4

Although the article is focused on the south... there's more and more of this everywhere. And I do like that.
Things do get lost in translation. And things do need to be fitted for comfort.
But, the article states, "They didn’t call it a meat and three. "[It was] plate lunch back in those days,..."

"plate lunch" - yes.

"It was food for people who plowed the back 40 [side of the farm], reinterpreted for people who work at desks and in factories," ... "catching lunch breaks in the city instead of returning home for lunch."

Yes. Lunch. A Plate lunch. And a good interpretation of Lunch it is:

http://www.eater.com/2016/12/27/13990...

"...It’s more than just the food, man. It’s way more."

I know the recommendations will lean to LL Dent and Biscuits & BBQ in Nassau. And both of those are fine. (BTW, Biscuits & BBQ does have great grits and even better collards that are cooked the way I like them - I can easily make a light snack of the two any time, any day ;-)
But do we know if there are others plating hyperdeliciousness on Long Island ? (I know we can cross over into the NYC boro of Queens, or travel way upstate, but I like to stay way out here, on Long Island for lunch most days)
Thank you for All your suggestions.
