The grinder discussion got me thinking about this. Our burr grinder has a timer on it, with numbers that (in theory) represent cups of coffee. Problem is, with darker roasts the beans sometimes stick, so a given length of grinding time won't produce a consistent amount of ground coffee.
So I'm thinking weighing the beans would be a much more reliable way to do it. (My sweetheart has a kitchen scale.) Question is: does anyone have any figures (rough or precise) on what weight of beans, at a given grind, produces X cups of coffee of a given strength?
(If not, I'll see if I can calibrate it myself, and post my own results.)
