Meal in NOLA Labor Day Weekend

I went to Brigtsen's for my big meal and I was not disappointed! Superb restaurant. Probably one of the ten best meals I've had in my life. I had the butternut squash/shrimp bisque (the recipe is featured on their website), the fried filet of flounder with meunier sauce (to die for) with buttery mashed potatoes, a celery relish and snow peas and for dessert an amazing banana bread pudding with banana custard sauce. EVERYTHING WAS SUPERB! Full of flavor and integrity. The chef is still cooking in the back after all these years and accolades, they let me thank him in person for a fabulous meal. The hostess and wait staff were great too in their suggestions. Very friendly and not the least bit stuffy. A wonderful not-to-be-missed dining experience.

Praline Connection - I had a bowl of gumbo here for a lite supper - spices were great but the quality of the meat used was less than great.

Clover Grill - one of the worst expensive breakfasts I've ever had. People post on here that their burgers are good but my breakfast was awful: undercooked hash browns (they were frozen shredded kind and were still white on my plate) cold toast, scrambled eggs, store bought OJ and coffee for $9.00. A total rip off and awful service plus you had to wait to get in. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
