McDonald's has revived deep fried pies

gfr1111 | May 6, 201707:52 AM     10

Back in the seventies McDonald's created the most incredibly unhealthy and delicious hand held pies. These were pie fillings surrounded by a dough which was then deep fried. The dough was pretty salty and contrasted with the sweetness of the apple or cherry filling. The dough was very crispy, due to the deep frying. I can't imagine how many calories these pies must have contained, but it must have been a lot! They were absolutely delicious. McDonald's discontinued them and substituted a mushy, bland, uninteresting "baked" substitute during the gold rush to "healthy" food in the late seventies or early eighties. Suddenly, it May of 2017 McDonald's has revived the old fried pies. I never thought McDonald's would bring them back. Have you had them? What did you think?
