Mazzaro's Italian Market, St. Petersburg

Long planned to get to this Mecca and finally discovered it tucked into an industrial area in St. Pete's. Guess the idea is you go pick out your granite for your kitchen counters, visit a cabinet maker, pick up supplies at Home Depot and Lowe's then fill your new kitchen at Mazzaro's.

You have to love a place that lets you taste so many of their wonderful offerings. I grazed on green and black olive tapenade, a couple of mild cheeses, a very dark bread, close to pumpernickel, tried a few prepared foods and sandwiches, tasted some wine, finished up with chocolate cake. LOVE the olive bread I bought, and paid just three dollars for it. About twice the size of ones I've paid the same price for elsewhere.
