I recently ate a piece of this generally excellent blue cheese and became ill with a flu-like syndrome characterized by weakness, diarrhea, vomiting, etc. It lasted about 48 hours and then completely resolved. The cheese itself tasted OK, maybe a little more astringent than usual. My wife (who got the same thing) thinks we just had a 48 hour viral thing and that it had nothing to do with the cheese.
Any thoughts? Could it have been the cheese? If so, what about the cheese would have caused this? I thought there was no such thing as "bad cheese".
