I know many seem to like this really cute place for breakfast, but .... WHY?!?!?!?
I ate breakfast there yesterday and remembered why I hadn't been for quite a while. The service was quite pleasant and the place is adorable - sort of like being in a wood cabin - but the coffee was mediocre and my pecan waffle was tough. My sweetie (LJ) ordered the fresh berry pancakes. They were doughy and the berries had an off flavor. Lastly, about half way through the meal I noticed that my teeth had that strange astringent feeling you get when you eat an underripe persimmon. I don't know what caused it but when I mentioned it to LJ, he said he felt it too. He had to stop eating his pancake after he got beyond the outer (less doughy) edge.
The bad thing is that the one waffle, three pancakes (both less than half-eaten), a cup of coffee and one of tea cost about $20 - no additional sides, no meat, no juice. Yikes!
Have you had a better experience that would explain the lines that wrap around the block every weekend morning?
