Max and Davids, Elkins Park: To the Rescue

Bashful3 | Mar 16, 2008 04:31 PM

Our daughter and her family made last minute plans to visit with us today. I didn't have any regular food in the house to serve, leave alone Kosher food, so in a moment of inspiration I called Max and David's for takeout. They were so accomodating, and all of the appetizers we ordered were scrumptious:

Turkish meatballs with pomegranate sauce
Duck confit with frisee
Duck breast with arugula and roasted pears
2 orders of chopped chicken liver with roasted onions
a Max and David's special salad
Moroccan carrots
Mezze platter--hummus, baba ganoush, pasta--lovely
Jicama salad with avocado
something else yummy that I forget the name of...

This feast cost $70 are was more than enough for all.

Next time we'll go there and have a more relaxed environment, but for me, and my daughter the Kosher chowhound, it was heaven.

You don't have to keep Kosher to love this place.
