Just back from Maui

As always, Hula grille is a great place to get grounded, feel touristy and then leave that vibe behind. Roy's is still great although it would be more enjoyable eating at the bar without the "mayor" whom we remembered from previous trips---all he cares about is volleyball and yelling over us to guests coming and going into the dining room---please get him some ridilin cause he acted like king of the castle while we as his immediate guests watched him take our drink order, walk away, make a bunch of drinks, and 10 minutes later tell the other bartender, oh yeah could you make them 2 martinis. He really takes the flavor out of what would be pretty great food. Roy better watch his back or he could have the same demise as A Pacific Cafe---a perfect place that just fell apart.

Sonsie started out great and then took a nosedive. Planning on having dinner we started with some of the most incredible sushi we have ever had mixed with apps. The second order of Unagi, and Maguro were as if they were from another restaraunt. It went from the best to some of the worst we've had. Sorry to say we didnt get a chance to test their kitchen again. The apps were ok but nothing remarkable. On our next trip, we will not get caught up with the sushi and give the entrees a chance....more later!!!
