Last night my S.O. and I finally got to Matyson. We has been anticipating this for quite awhile, based on posts on this board and recommendations from friends. The only hesitation I had was the sound factor. Turned out that it wasn't so bad. Service was very good and the desserts were (as so often reported) spectacular. However, we were both disappointed with our entrees. We both ordered the steak frites, mine medium well and his medium rare. We don't usually order the same thing but this seemed the only entree that went well with the wine we brought along. My steak came out very well done. That didn't bother me so much, but the fact that both our steaks were extremely fatty did. I decided that we had both simply ordered poorly. On the other hand, one would think that Matyson wouldn't have a subpar entree on their menu. I must say, however, that the parmesan "fritess" were very flavorful. The $26 price would have been reasonable had the steaks been edible. We plan to go back again, just order different entrees. Still, a slight disappointment...
