Have always been a fan of Matt Murphy's for their dinner food, but had never been to brunch there. Glad I tried it, as I had a notably great sunday brunch there yesterday. I had the pork hash, which came in an unexpectedly cheffy presentation -- a cyclindrical stack, with roast potatoes on the bottom, the hash in the middle, and scrambled eggs on top. It was fabulous. The roast potatoes were excellent, and the hash was delicious -- the pork was almost like pulled-pork, although a bit crispier from having been sauteed. the roasted veggies in the hash were excellent as well. Really satisfying on all levels.
Had tastes of a friend's french toast with strawberries, which was excellent, as well as some of an irish breakfast (a pork quartet of black pudding, white pudding, bangers, ham, plus beans and scrambled eggs) -- the bangers and black pudding were tasty. All three dishes were excellent, although I think I won with the hash. Oh, and they gave us plenty of their excellent bread and butter. All 3 dishes cost 9 dollars each.
There were plenty of seats at around noon, but they filled up by around 12:30.
