matsuri in piccadilly

howler | Dec 7, 2000 05:32 PM

at my last gig before moving over to old blighty i used to work at 9 west 57th, and one huge advantage of the location was that i could lunch regularly at menchanko-tei.

man, do i miss it. but this london book by andrew gumbel says there's a japanese place serving 'delicious noodle soups' called matsuri in bury street. dare i get excited? or will it turn out to be another wagamama? any experience with the place?

and since quizzes are getting so popular these days, anyone wish to hazard a guess where the term 'blighty' derives from? first correct answer gets as many drinks as can be consumed at the elephant and castle in one evening ...
