Best Material for Non-Stick Pans?

hellskitchen6 | Jun 13, 201807:43 PM

Hello CH!

Was having a conversation with a friend today, which went something along the lines of the fact that we both know (or think we know) that non-stick skillets, or I should say the coating on them, will fade over time. So gettting a fancy one isn't as important as getting one with a good coating.

Assuming that is right (?), the thing that did stump us is what the best base material is for non-stick pans. Basically you have the cheap-ish Tramontina ones that I think are just aluminum on the bottom, and then you have some of those hard anondized aluminum all-clad (and other brands) ones, which i think are kind of natually non-stick b/c of the process they go through but then have an additional coating on top of that?

What is the best, most longest lasting mateiral for non-stick pans to have??
