Matchbox--- disappointed

Wow, so much hype over a restaurant and little burgers that you normally get at fast food restaurants. So much disappointment over the meal.

I was excited to eat at the restaurant even though I don't eat red meat based on the variety of offerings on the menu posted on the website. To my surprise the menu we were given did not reflect the internet menu at ALL!

I had a hard time choosing something based on the offerings and finally chose a salad with seared tuna. My date ordered 6 of the sliders as his main course. (we had chosen the restaurant so he could try the burgers.)

Our food arrived. My salad was extremely bland looking. The description of the salad was "seared rare, grilled oranges & toasted pine nuts in a citrus black pepper vinaigrette." What arrived was a plate of chopped romaine lettuce (very good in fact) with a piece of non-seasoned, close to well done, piece of tuna steak, one segment of an orange divided into four pieces that had been lightly seared (not enough to give any flavor) and pine nuts that were not very flavorful. So, not very impressed with the salad. It occured to me this morning that perhaps a pizza restaurant could serve flat bread or some kind of bread with a salad, but Matchbox does not...

In case you are wondering my date said that he thought Five Guys made a better burger than the sliders Matchbox makes...

wanted to give a heads up that the hype is just that, hype...
