I am writing to you from sunny St. Croix. The night before we left on vacation we had dinner with friends at Matamoros, one of our neighborhood Salvadoran/Tex-Mex places in Wheaton. The whole evening was a disaster in terms of bad service (not language related) and the food paled in comparison to what we are used to there. The menu has changed but has retained some of the old dishes. During the course of the evening our waitress attributed the problems to the change in management--apparently the whole operation has been sold--we didn't recognize a single face. I guess it will be Samantha's and El Boqueron from now on.
Also, we had lunch the previous week at HOllywood East, though people had mentioned the kitchen staff has changed we haven't noticed anything. Still some of the best Chinese I've ever had.
okay, now back to the rum punch.
