Matador in Wayne

Went to Matador last night with a friend and really enjoyed it. We were looking for a nice place to have a leisurely meal and wanted to try somewhere we hadn't been before. We sat upstairs and it was relatively full (1/2 - 2/3s full) on Wed evening but we had no trouble hearing each other.

We started with some drinks and the guacamole (made fresh at the table with 2 avocados) and pico di gallo. The chips that came with those were delicious. We ordered 4 other small dishes (a shrimp, chorizo, chicken and beef) and we liked all of them. Some of it was a bit pricey (4 small skewers of beef for $16) but in the end with one drink each and sharing 6 items (incl. the guac and pico) it was $55pp after tax and tip. As we walked out, we saw some of the tables had ordered the full entrees and they were pretty large and seemed maybe to be the 'better deal'. Ours wasn't a great value but it was perfect for what it was. This same friend and I were part of a larger group who went to Xilantro across the street about a month ago and we both declared while we have no interest in going back there, we both would enjoy returning to Matador.
