I went to Mastro's for dinner last night (Sunday) because I wanted to see if it was as good as all the reviews I've read. I must say that the bone in rib eye was very tasty, as was the gorgonzola mac and cheese. However, their asparagus was on the bitter/woody side which was a disappointment. The best part was dessert (chocolate sin cake). It's the size of a cheesecake slice but is very rich and delicious! On a side note, they served their signature hot plate to a young child (seems to me they should NEVER do this with children) and the kid burned his hand. They apparently have burn spray on hand if you end up forgetting that the plate you're eating off of is 450 degrees! Only in LA!
