Had dinner at Masque last night. Overall, it was very good.
Amuse - Tuna crudo: perfect balance of fish, citrus and capers.
Shared Salad/Antipasti - Burrata Salad w/tomatoes: very well executed, a sophisticated composed salad; however the burrata gave it a rustic/homemade touch. Just enough dressing left to mop up with their great bread.
DH's pasta: Manila clams and linguine. The sauce had fresh tomatoes and spanish chorizo. Again it was a very balanced dish. The clams were very plump and the chorizo added a nice smokinees.
My Entree: Brandino over crab gnocchi and a butternut squash sauce. Very good but it could have been warmer and needed a little salt. The sea bass was grilled perfectly -- I could have eaten it on its own and would have been just as happy. Had my leftovers for lunch today. My tiny improvements made it an enjoyable lunch.
Neither of us had room for dessert. DH had some ice wine instead. We stopped at Nugget on the way home and brought home some Cioa Bella Carbernet Blackberry sorbet for later.
Wines: We both ordered by the glass. I had the 2006 Sonoma Cuvee Pinot Noir and DH had the Wild Rock 2006 Vin Gris. We were both happy with our choices as well.
