Took a friend there for her b-day last nite and almost didn't go in cuz it was so dead, just one person. But the menu looked so good, we plopped ourselves at the bar (to be close to people) and we're glad we did. I haven't had a nite where all the menu choices spoke to me in a while. We both started with their 'masarita", a huge tasty margarita and split a shrimp and goat cheese quesadilla. They called them tamales I think but they were definitely ques. like. Very good with nice greens and a melon salsa on the plate. I got tuna w/ yellow mole and asked to have polenta switched for yukon gold potatos. Some nice spiciness to both the tuna and polenta. My friend got catfish which was a little mild but the grilled portabello mushroom and corn that came with it was amazing. She chose chocolate mousse tacos for dessert, I would have picked pineapple cornbread upside down cake w/ ice cream, but they were great. Both bartenders we dealt with were really nice and thankfully, it filled up a little more around 9PM. But it's a good sized dining room (very pleasant and comfortable) that could have a lot more people. I read that the chef bought it a while ago and hope that we just hit an off nite cuz it's definitely worth checking out if you're in the mood for a southwestern flair to your meal. Entrees are $17-23, apps $7-11 and dessert was $7 or 8. The big ole masarita was $8 and worth it.
