Just back from Maryland

After consulting Chowhound, we went to Maryland.

One note...the whole state seems not to have Tasty DeLite which many New Yorkers live on. So this is a business opportunity for someone! Note to Weight Watchers--Subway franchises abound and their salads can be flavorful low point options big choice of peppers- no, I do not have a deal like Jared's. I fear I may get hounded for mentioning such a chain here. I know. I know. iceberg lettuce.

Balt. We enjoyed Lexington Market 'though my husband says Reading Mkt in Phila is more upscale. The market is very big right now on cut up fresh fruit. The jazz Fridays and Saturday noon to 2 is most enjoyable while you chow down on almost anything.

Annap. Chick n Ruth's Delly (their spelling not mine) near the dock is a fun place to go-b'fast, lunch or dinner.

St. Michael's Absolutely charming. Crab Claw next to the Maritime Museum. Paper plates by water--well mannered gulls.

Ocean City An old fashioned (no casino) beach/boardwalk experience - INDOOR mini golf place very useful in this weather - xc teens on boardwalk have more piercings/cell phones than 30 yrs ago.
Crab cakes (you thought I'd mention crab cakes earlier?) Coin's in the 28th St. Plaza. It looks like a bar in a strip mall, but go in. Esp. Thursday nights when entrees are 1/2 price. No reservations on Th. nights and some wait.

The ferry from Lewes to Cape May or vice versa-not a foodie experience - like the plane or train-mediocre cafeteria, but dolphins cavorting near boat are a treat.
