Martini House (St Helena)

Han Lukito | Apr 16, 2002 05:05 PM

I had dinner there last night after our unsuccessful attempt at French Laundry. I thought the meal was good but nothing spectacular. We shared all of our meals there.

Seared Foie Gras: good amount of foie gras, sweet sauce with strawberry flavor, and some micro greens (can't identify).

Salad with beets: no comment as I am not a big fan of beets.

Tuna carpaccio: thin slices of tuna. A bit on the bland side.

Venison with chinese bok choy of somekind and thin slices of some root vegetable: the meat was properly cooked but the vegetables were not good complements IMHO.

Lamb (stew) was tender but again lack flavor.

Pork chop was just OK and again lack flavor.

I guess I should have gone to Bistro Jeanty.
